Maya shows Mia around

Both dogs were welcomed home with a nice bath to clean off all the travel 'dust'. They were both happy, smiling dogs as they dashed around shimmying and shaking any excess water off. After a nice brushing they both looked fresh and ready to meet the world.

During her first day on Salt Spring Mia enjoyed some walks around the woods and lanes surrounding her new house. It was all very exhausting stuff which required some serious relaxation afterward. Maya is in front and Mia towards the back. What did we learn about these two girls after a few days together? They have very different personalities. For example Maya is a very quiet dog. the only time you hear her 'voice' is if someone is intruding on her space at which point she will bark vigourously. Mia on the other hand has a busy voice. She barks to speak with you and she always makes her presence felt.

Besides their looks they are very similar in that they both always have our well being foremost in their minds. They will always sacrifice themselves and allow us to pat them endlessly to help us feel better.

Both dogs had some serious competition for any free hands over the first few days. I hope we were able to meet the pat quota for both hounds.
