Maya and Mia play like Aussies

Daisies by the Lake
Today we spent some time working around the gardens and grounds at the resort. M&M took care of the chickens for most of the morning. Here you can see them trying to keep the hens from going down to the lake. However, they were distracted from this job by a wild bunny. The chickens were quickly forgotten as they gave chase. The rabbit was quite funny as it just ran in straight line until the dogs got close and then he lept into the bushes to escape.

Otherwise it was a good day of knocking down my burn pile and collecting more brush from various places around the resort. I also knocked down some alders to open up some of the views down to the lake. The canines assisted when I walked up to my pile of tree limbs and dragged them back instead of hauling them in the tractor. The girls didn't pay much attention to my work as they spent their walking time sniffing everything.

At one point when I took a break by the lake Mia and Maya started chasing each other including one collision where they both wimpered. But they quickly recovered and went at it again. Mia was running around boats, over the docks across the lawns and around trees with Maya in hot pursuit. They were both barking away as they were moving at top speed. It was nice to see them playing together like I know Aussies can. This photo shows them coming down towards the lake shoulder to shoulder at a pretty good clip.
